Stability study of emulsions based on modified xanthan gum

Modified xanthan gum is often used in a variety of industries such as pharmaceuticals, the food industry, and oil industry. The use modified emulsions can solve two problems, stabilize thicken. This work dedicated to study oil-in-water emulsion stability. continuous phase consists aqueous solutions (XG-g-MMA), alkyl polyglycoside (APG), silicon dioxide nanoparticles (SiO2), kerosene was dispersed phase. XG prepared by grafting with methyl methacrylate improve its properties. To determine stability, stratification time monitored, rheological properties droplet sizes were determined. results showed that based on XG-g-MMA APG have better than sodium lauryl ethoxy-sulphate (SLES). Emulsions 0.3% XG-g-MMA, 5% 0.2% SiO2 demonstrated stability for up 2 years, whereas stay stable 1 year.
